Part One: The ‘Land’ Reunion

At the Hyatt Place Jacksonville Airport at 14565 Duval Road, Jacksonville, FL32218.

A $119 nightly rate for double occupancy has been contracted with the hotel. This rate includes an airport shuttle, a hot breakfast buffet, WIFI and complimentary hotel parking. The rate is also good for early arrivals during the three days prior to October 1st. That rate will be good for all reservations made through 8/20/24 and will go to the hotel’s current room rate for any reservation made after that date.

You can make your reservations now by calling 904-741-4184 and asking for the ‘USS GRANT REUNION’ rate. There is no cancellation penalty if your reservation is cancelled at least 72 hours before your booked arrival date.

The LAND Reunion P.O.D.

A ‘Tentative’ LAND reunion POD is included with this announcement. The activities at the Submarine Base will be confirmed later because, as you know, everything at a Submarine Base is subject to changing operation schedules. Charter transportation will be available from the hotel and between the submarine base activities. The same charter will provide the transportation from the Base to the St. Mary’s Submarine Museum and the return to the hotel. Activities in St. Augustine are within walking distance of the charter bus drop-off location. Websites or descriptions of the listed activities will be posted later on the Grant website. Refreshments will be available in the GHR when it is open. Daily door prize drawings will be conducted for Grant and/or submarine-related items. The drawing for the reunion grand prize will occur at the ‘Grant Dinner’.

Registration, Admission and Transportation fees for the reunion.

On about 8/21/2024, the ‘Registration, Admission and Transportation (R.A.T.)’ form will be sent to all persons with rooms currently booked at the reunion hotel. Shipmates attending the reunion – but – NOT staying at the reunion hotel MUST inform Barbara Anderjack before August 1, 2024, to receive the R.A.T. form.

[THE 2024 USS GRANT ‘LAND’ REUNION ENDS.]                             

The ‘CRUISE’ Reunion will begin at about 1530 on Saturday (10/5) aboard the Carnival Elation and will end at about 0800 on Thursday (10/10). Ports-of-call will be Nassau and Princess Cays in the Bahamas. Charter transportation will be available from the hotel to the cruise terminal on 10/5 and from the cruise terminal to the airport and hotel on 10/10. Cruise parking at the hotel is NOT available. 

Our Grant Group Rates 

Interior staterooms begin at $461 per person (taxes & fees included). 

Ocean View staterooms begin at $513 per person (taxes & fees included). 

The above rates are available until October 30, 2023. After that date, Interior staterooms and Ocean View staterooms will be quoted at the “best available” rate.  

Rates for Balcony staterooms and Suites will be quoted at the “best available” rate.

A deposit of $150 per person will be required at the time of booking. 

The final payment date, OR full cancellation refund without penalty, is 7/22/2024. 

Additionally, gratuities are $80 per person and the Vacation Protection plan is $49 per person.  Gratuities and the Vacation Plan Protection can be purchased at a later date if you prefer.
