Greetings to everyone,
I hope your New year has been successful thus far and are excited about our upcoming reunion in October. The dates and the hotel have been set. October 13-17 at the Residence Inn Norfolk Airport. We have planned some exciting visits and if things don’t change too much, it should be a fun time for everyone. The POD will be included and will be posted on the website.
If you plan to stay at the hotel, please make your reservations before August so that you can get the GRANT GROUP RATE. The hospitality Room will be open on Tuesday, October 13, at 1600. Midrats will start about 1800.
On Wednesday, Oct 14, we have a visit with the Submarine Training Facility in Norfolk. For those who do not wish to do that, we have a tour of the Chrysler Museum of Art and glass blowing. If you want to do both, go to the Submarine Training Facility on October 14, then visit the Chrysler Museum of Art on Friday, October 16
Wednesday evening, we will have our GRANT Remembrance followed by our Pizza night in the Hospitality Room
On Thursday Oct 15, we have scheduled a visit to the Nauticus museum. There you can also tour the battleship Wisconsin or go on a boat tour to see the Navy ships.
Thursday evening will be the soup and sandwich bar in the Hospitality Room
Friday Oct 16, will be a “free” day to go and explore the different sites around the Norfolk/ Virginia Beach area.
Friday night will be our banquet followed by the Association Business meeting.
Saturday morning we say our farewells and head to the cruise ship for the 8 day Canada cruise onboard Carnival Cruise Ship.
